Dallas County Housing Agency

Dallas County Health and Human Services offers multiple housing assistance programs that accommodate the needs of Dallas County residents as they progress from renting to owning their own home. They provide programs such as Housing Choice Voucher Program that helps low to moderate income residents rent decent, safe and sanitary housing and also provides financial assistance, counseling and housing inspection services. Another program provided is the Family Self-Sufficiency Program that provides supportive services to enable participants to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency. The program assists eligible Housing Choice Voucher Program participants with their basic educational needs, development of employment skills and training. Program participation can last up to five years, during which time participants must seek and maintain suitable employment.
